Qualcomm MSM6275 UMTS chip" (1931:000c) with Ubuntu 9.10. Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid -> card works Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty -> card works Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic -> Timeout while connecting with network manager NetworkManager messages: ... sent [LCP ConfReq id=0x1 <asyncmap 0x0> <magic 0x6fb24290> <pcomp> <accomp>] sent [LCP ConfReq id=0x1 <asyncmap 0x0> <magic 0x6fb24290> <pcomp> <accomp>] sent [LCP ConfReq id=0x1 <asyncmap 0x0> <magic 0x6fb24290> <pcomp> <accomp>] sent [LCP ConfReq id=0x1 <asyncmap 0x0> <magic 0x6fb24290> <pcomp> <accomp>] NetworkManager: <WARN> pppd_timed_out(): Looks like pppd didn't initialize our dbus module ... (the full log is appended as NetworkManager.log) ... The good news: An USB umts network adapter "Huwai E620 USB Modem" works fine on the same machine with the same setup. I heard very similar complains about Sony-Ericsson PC300 PCMCIA and Sierratec PCMCIA cards. While testing I've included "debug" and "kdebug 5" options in /etc/ppp/options, this gives more output but does not solve the issue of course. Hope the appended log files help.
