Public bug reported: When there are more than one wireless network adapters in the system network manager indicator displays their names. The name can be a very long one. In my case it is "Qualcomm Atheros AW-NB037H 802.11bgn Wireless Half-size Mini PCIe Card [AR9002WB-1NGCD]". Opened indicator takes more than a half of my screen.
In my opinion, the best solution in case of two adapters - USB and PCI - is to display only information like: "USB", "built-in", "internal", "external". ** Affects: network-manager-applet (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to network-manager-applet in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1274303 Title: Displayed wireless adapter name is too long Status in “network-manager-applet” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: When there are more than one wireless network adapters in the system network manager indicator displays their names.
