Public bug reported: Since last thursday, gnome-settings-daemon has not been working for me.
It doesn't crash, but it doesn't do what it is supposed to do either. It doesn't load the gtk themes, icon themes, some keyboard overrides don't work, touchpad settings are messed up, etc. If I kill the gnome-settings-daemon process and start as root, the theme/settings for the root user work fine. But if I start as regular user, nothing happens. I've the latest updates applied as of Oct 4. ** Affects: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/866047 Title: gnome-settings-daemon does not work anymore in Oneiric Status in “gnome-settings-daemon” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Since last thursday, gnome-settings-daemon has not been working for me.
