Hi Christopher, The problem did not reappear since filing of the bug. I booted the current daily trusty-desktop-amd64.iso - no stuck keys.
I get the impression that the described behaviour might be hardware related to the Cherry Keyboard. I feel fine, if you close the bug. Thank you for your efforts -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-evdev in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1009975 Title: Multimedia keys get stuck and cause system to hang at log-out Status in “xserver-xorg-input-evdev” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Multimedia send no "button released" (Cherry Cymotion Master Linux Keyboard). When pressing "vol +" (for example) volume gets increased to max. button keeps "stuck". regular keys are unusable. switching to console (Ctrl+Alt+F1) and back makes regular keys usable again. Turning the volume wheel on my Logitech headset makes regular keys usable again. Other multimedia keys (Calc., Mail, Play, etc.) show a same problem. Once a key is pressed, logging out of current session causes system to hang. Same result in Unity and Gnome Shell. Bug was dicovered yesterday after fresh install of Precise. Problem also existed in Oneric. That time installing evdev from ppa in http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=974723 solved the problem. Switched to Mint 12 --> Same behaviour. ppa helped so I guess it's the same bug. After booting into recovery mode the problem did not reappear. What I did: Fresh install. Install medibuntu etc. Install gnome-shell and ATI fglrx. Discovered the problem in gnome shell. Switched to console and back. found the Headset wheel releases the key. Log out --> Hang. Reset. login to gnome shell. reproduced the behaviour. -->Hang Reset. login to unity. reproduced the behaviour. -->Hang gnome shell again.-->Hang Boot into Recovery Mode (unity). Problem disappeared. lsb_release -rd: Description: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Release: 12.04 apt-cache policy xserver-xorg-input-evdev: xserver-xorg-input-evdev: Installiert: 1:2.7.0-0ubuntu1 Kandidat: 1:2.7.0-0ubuntu1 Versionstabelle: *** 1:2.7.0-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/main i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status Bug filing was initiated by ubuntu-bug xserver-xorg-input-evdev.
