I'm commenting because I saw Andreas post about this happening on a Dell laptop. I'm using a Dell Latitude D631 with an aftermarket extended battery. Maybe this will help isolate the problem.
I'm also getting more than one battery show up in the battery notification, but I only have one. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/853621 Title: gnome-power-statistics crashed with SIGABRT Status in “gnome-power-manager” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: Clicked on the battery and the crash dialog came up.
