Public bug reported:

I have recently purchased a new Dell Inspiron 11 modell 3137 for Xmas.
Most all Ubuntu features work out of the box on initial startup, but
audio fails to resume from suspend after closing the laptop lid. This is
happening everytime I relaunch from suspend, and restart both alsa and
pulse via terminal do not restart audio output. Only a full restart
provides results.
