Issue still present in latest Ubuntu (on a MacBook 2,1). David Duffeys solution in #81 helps partly, its still not quite sensitive enough. Changing the threshold number does not change the sensitivity, except if changed to 1 in which case sensitivity is extremely low.
The other posted solutions here do not work, except that experimenting with synclient does help. I find that setting FingerLow to 5 and FingerHigh to 15 gives a good amount of sensibility. However, movement is still jaggy, especially on diagonal movements. Also, it is not possible to apply these synclient settings permanently to xorg.conf because xorg.conf does not exist. If it is created X fails to load with error message "no screens found", probably due to there being no screen settings in xorg.conf. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/416516 Title: Touchpad isn't sensitive enough on MacBook 5,2 Status in Mactel Support: New Status in xf86-input-synaptics: Incomplete Status in “xserver-xorg-input-synaptics” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics When using ubuntu on a MacBook (rev. 5,2) the touchpad is very hard to use.
