The proposed fix in the PPA does not give user any other option than to use xscreensaver, but still keeps the options hanging there in lxlock script. If the options are wanted to be preserved, xscreensaver or whichever screen saver/locker is installed as a dependency of the desktop environment, should be used as fallback. Using "xdg-screensaver lock" as the fallback is insane, if there is a possibility, that it calls lxlock, like a comment in the script suggests, since there may be endless loop then. Therefore, something like the attachment should be used. (I dropped xlock as an option, because it is not available for Ubuntu anymore.)
