Public bug reported:

Problem happens with Ubuntu 13.04 and 13.10, didn't happen with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
The problem occurs as a general rule during the first 30 minutes of use and
keeps happening across several following reboots and shutdown/power on cycles.

I've a Pentium IV 3.06GHz with Hyperthreading enabled and a graphic card:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation G73 [GeForce 7600 GS]
(rev a2) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])
Subsystem: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd Device 3428
Control: I/O+ Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr-
Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx-
        Status: Cap+ 66MHz+ UDF- FastB2B+ ParErr- DEVSEL=medium >TAbort-
<TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- INTx-
        Latency: 32 (1250ns min, 250ns max)
Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 18
        Region 0: Memory at f8000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16M]
        Region 1: Memory at e0000000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=256M]
        Region 2: Memory at f9000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16M]
[virtual] Expansion ROM at fa000000 [disabled] [size=128K]
        Capabilities: <access denied>

And I've been observing GPU lockups like the ones in attachment since
Ubuntu 13.04 no matter I use the nouveau or nvidia drivers any version.
In fact nvidia drivers worses the problem appearance rate. These
problems didn't happen with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS running on same machine
with same hardware.
