After upgrading from Ubuntu 13.04 to Ubuntu 13.10, gedit's icon started
disappearing from the app switcher.

However it does appear when searching applications, and in the gutter
alongside other running apps.

  gedit lacks icons

Status in “gnome-icon-theme” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  I upgraded to Xubuntu 12.04 Beta, and now, gedit lacks some icons:

  - Do "Ctrl+f". A popup dialog appears to make a search. "Previous" and
  "Next" arrows are missing.

  - Enable the "External Tools" plugin and go to "Tools > Manage
  External Tools...". "Add" and "Delete" arrows are missing.

  My theme is the default Gnome theme.
