Mark-Andre, even when you unzip using command line 'tar' the eclipse distro is corrupted. When you run eclipse the main menu of the eclipse app is unable to show any content. When you click a menu item, the menu doesn't appear. The eclipse menu 'bar' shows up but is totally unusable. The other indication of a corruption is that the splashscreen has a bad appearance (hard to explain) but definiately indicates something has gone wrong with eclipse. This 'could' possibly be an eclipse bug, but at this point i'm willing to blame it on the ubuntu unzipping code.
