Public bug reported:

Since I have upgraded my Ubuntu from 11.10 to 12.04, my soundcard (see
below) is recognised by my system but it plays no sound after a startup.
I need to manually execute 'sudo alsa force-reload' in order to get a
functioning soundcard. When executed, the terminal output shows me:

Terminating processes: 2042 2511
2511.

After that, my soundcard plays sound without any problems, until the next
reboot. It still exist in the latest version of Ubuntu:
