** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 1023165 Can't change IBus input method using menu in Unity -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to ibus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/876831 Title: Ibus input switching doesn't work when switching to Japanese. Status in “ibus” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: ibus says it can switch to Japanese but when I click to switch it doesn't work (neither does it work when I press ctrl+space). Also, it creates a weird half transparent box that I can drag around but doesn't do anything. Japanese is installed (and reinstalled and reinstalled) but no change in input is possible. I expected when I press ctrl+space to be able to type in Japanese. Every other version of Ubuntu has worked (10.10 until 11.10).
