Title:
with dual monitors connected, ubuntu will not shutdown

Status in “xserver-xorg-video-intel” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS - this is a fresh installation
  Macbookpro8,1
  Intel i5 processor
  intel sandybridge mobile graphics

If a second monitor is connected, ubuntu freezes during shut down and log
out. If the second monitor is disconnected, shut down proceeds as normal.
  To reproduce:
  setup dual monitors
try to shut down the system

I also noted this behaviour on 12.10 ubuntu, but have since reverted
to 12.04 for a different reason.

I have always noted this behaviour - it has never shut down properly
  with a dual monitor attached.
