I decided to solve the problem in a simply way - I took back the printer and looked for one that is LINUX compatible. The Epson technical support told me that they recommend a LINUX driver [the one I used] but only support the Mac and MS ones. They, thus, gave me a good reason to dump their printer!

All worked very well until I decided to test the copying feature. It copied OK but now will not print normal pages. It states: "Paper out or paper jam". Neither are true. Also:"check paper size and load paper in rear MP": I tried adding paper to rear but no luck. The print status says "Out of paper" - but this is not true. How do I reset the printer to clear the status? I tried stopping and restarting CUPS. Epson, naturally, says this is a driver problem so consult Ubuntu!
