  external monitor not recognized in ubutu 11.04

Status in “xserver-xorg-video-intel” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  I have a newish Gateway netbook LT400u
  Intel atom N2600
  Intel Graphics media acccelerator 3600
  1 gig DDR3 memory

  On Ubuntu 10.04 Multiple monitors worked flawlwessly, but there was video 
flicker.
  Now with the upgrade my Dell eternal flat monitor model #1702FP  (circa 2002) 
is not recognized.

  I am a newbie; age 55, college IT prof...lost.
