This is rather annoying as I abhor things on my desktop... I hate folders and files cluttering the desktop up and previously this did not happen. On investigation, I discovered that in ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs the XDG_DESKTOP_DIR item was pointing to "$HOME/" rather than "$HOME/Desktop" as it did in previous versions of Ubuntu. This is rather annoying with only the 15 or 20 folders I have currently in my new home directory... prior to my re-install, my home directory had over 100 folders in it, and that would have cluttered my desktop to the point of insanity :( ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: unity 5.6.0-0ubuntu4 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-19.30-generic 3.2.11 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-19-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia ApportVersion: 1.94.1-0ubuntu2 Architecture: amd64 CompizPlugins: [core, composite, opengl, compiztoolbox, decor, vpswitch, snap, mousepoll, resize, place, move, wall, grid, regex, imgpng, session, gnomecompat, animation, fade, unitymtgrabhandles, workarounds, scale, expo, ezoom, unityshell] Date: Mon Mar 19 18:12:50 2012 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Alpha amd64 (20120307) ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: unity UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xdg-user-dirs/+bug/959764/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
