Title:
OpenOffice Impress is twitchy and very unstable in Maverick 64bit

Status in “openoffice.org” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: openoffice.org

All I'm trying to do is create/edit a presentation that so far is only
about 20 slides. Nothing fancy, only text, with three slides that
  have embedded PNG images.

OOo Impress constantly freezes when doing random things.

I've had to manually nuke it and restart several times now because I
  did things like:

  Rearrange slides
  Add slides
  Change Fonts in slides
Remove an object from a slide

So, really, OOo is just buggy and unstable right now... I have no idea
what's causing it to just freeze, but the only way to recover is to
kill it and HOPE that my work has been saved in the cache and can be
  recovered on restart.
