I just noticed today the same bug affecting me. I use a Presario CQ62 Compaq laptop running 2D Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS. My built in speakers work fine always, but if I log out and back in, the green output jack in which I have an external speaker set attached no longer works. I have to do a full reboot to repair.
Let me know if any additional information would be helpful. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to alsa-driver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1081791 Title: Green Headphone Out, No sound at all after logout Status in “alsa-driver” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I am running Ubuntu 12.10.
