Title:
Sound settings makes a popping noise when switching between inputs

Status in “gnome-control-center” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
When changing hardware inputs options in sound manager, my speakers
emit a nasty cracking noise. Thus far it only seems to happen when
selecting various different sound inputs from the input tab of the
  sound manager menu.
