Title: [HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC, IDT 92HD75B3X5, Speaker, Internal] No automute - Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 32bit Status in “alsa-driver” package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: Hello. I had a problem with the output of my internal speakers, when I had headphones connected to my Hp Pavilion dv6 laptop, via jack port. The sound output was generated from both my internal speakers and the headphones, instead of coming only from the headphones (jack-sense issue). I modified the contect of the /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf and set the "options snd-hda-intel model" option to "hp-dv5" instead of "auto" and that solved my problem. After rebooting, the speakers are muted while jack headphones are connected to my laptop, as they should. It is worth to mention that this solution only worked for the 1.0.25 version of the driver. I also applied the solution while having the 1.0.24 version, but it didn't work. I lost sound from my internal speakers no matter if the headphones were connected or not. I didn't have the same problem on Ubuntu 11.10 and older installations on my laptop. My current installation is "clean", I formatted my hard drive and installed the Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 32bit, I didn't upgrade to it. Could you please add in the Alsa code the correct PCI ID for my audio card so that it works by default with the 'hp-dv5' model? Here are some more info regarding my installation: lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Release: 12.04 apt-cache policy alsa-base alsa-base: Installed: 1.0.25+dfsg-0ubuntu1 Candidate: 1.0.25+dfsg-0ubuntu1 Version table: *** 1.0.25+dfsg-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://ftp.cc.uoc.gr/mirrors/linux/ubuntu/packages/ precise/main i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status Thank you in advance.
