This is what is given back for ONE klick of the right mouse button:

ButtonPress event, serial 34, synthetic NO, window 0x5a00001,
    state 0x0, button 1, same_screen YES
ButtonRelease event, serial 34, synthetic NO, window 0x5a00001,
    state 0x100, button 1, same_screen YES
ButtonPress event, serial 34, synthetic NO, window 0x5a00001,
    state 0x0, button 1, same_screen YES
ButtonRelease event, serial 34, synthetic NO, window 0x5a00001,
    state 0x100, button 1, same_screen YES

The mouse clearly delivers one event only if tested on Windows!

Title:
Mouse buttons give back more than one event sometimes

Status in “xorg” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
Since the latest updates to xorg mouse buttons may report more than
one event for every mouse key press. This leads to various negative
  effects:

  - klicking left mouse button at the title of a window to drag it: since more
than one event delivered the window is roled up instead
  - klicking left on a printer to select it: the printer is not only selected,
but printing is initiated, without any possibility to change settings
  - klicking right to open a context menu: the menu is opened, then closed,
because multiple events are generated
  - klicking right to open a context menu: the menu is opened, then a menu
entry selected and executed without any posibility to select the menu entry.
Which one is selected depends on where the mouse button was on screen, when the
menu is taller than the space between lower edge and mouse cursor.
  - scrolling the mouse wheel: sometimes it is impossible to scroll to a
defined possition, because multiple events scroll further than expected
  - selecting text leads to various unwanted results:
-- text is selected, then moved arround, because of multiple key down-events

  This is with various mice:
  - Logitech
  - LC-Power
  - Microsoft

Tested with more than one mouse from all of the above, to exclude
defective mice. All of them work with Windows as expected. As soon as
I clamt them to my Ubuntu-Box they all show the same behaviour:
multiple events for one klick (doesn't mater which key), multiple
  events for scrolling.
