Public bug reported:

The us-122 lights up, and I can make a midi connection through aconnect,
jack or patchage to the midi-in port. However, no good connecting to the
midi-out port.

Patchage gives me the best error output:

[ALSA] Subscription failed: Input/output error

i can confirm the issue is also present in my us-224:

*NO* midi-out whatsoever :(

dmesg says:

This appears to be a bug in the PM code since kernel 2.6.39.
I'm on it ...
