While I agree (and was in the plans) this change requires a lot of work and is 
not in plans... if somebody wants to pick it up, this is what he needs to do::
1) set RGBA colormap for the Gtk menus used in unity.
2) patch compiz to draw shadows with different radius per each side.

Bug description:
  The global menu, system menu, and all indicator menus need to have
  rounded bottom corners. The right click menu should have four rounded
  corners. This will provide a more pleasing look to Unity.
