Title:
calendar contains invalid days, wrong dates

Status in “gnome-desktop” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I opened the calendar applet from the tray, and it's telling me september
26, 2012 was a sunday, when it actually was a wednesday.
Additionally, there are invalid dates and an extra column of dates to the
left of the calendar. See attached screenshot.

  35-26-27-28-29-30-31-1
  36-2-3-4-5-6-7-8
  37-9-10-11-12-13-14-15
  38-16-17-18-19-20-21-22
  etc

Also the entire gnome-panel crashes when I add the calendar to the
panel. It's inconceivable that in the year 2012 we still don't have a
  working calendar. FFS.
