If the "Google Talk" protocol is selected in pidgin the default settings should work with Google Talk. Method to reproduce: 1. Start Pidgin 2. Accounts->Manage Accounts->Add 3. Settings as below: Protocol: google talk Username: apunchhtc All other settings default. 4. Click Add 5. Click Close 6.
