I commented it, but it seems it changed nothing.

Title:
can't get pulseaudio to play at 96000 hz sample rate

Status in “pulseaudio” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
as described by user Kirill Kabardin on 2012-08-13 in question:
  https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+question/205700

I can't get pulseaudio to play at 96000 hz sample rate. It worked in 11.10
I have this options enabled in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf (some of them were
enabled by default, I only changed that ones that marked with #):

      resample-method = ffmpeg #
      enable-remixing = yes #
      enable-lfe-remixing = yes #
      flat-volumes = no
      default-sample-format = s16le #
      default-sample-rate = 96000 #
      default-fragments = 8
      default-fragment-size-msec = 10
      deferred-volume-safety-margin-usec = 1

I have this messages in "pulseaudio -v" output (this is not a full log, it
just too big to put here):

I: [pulseaudio] alsa-util.c: Unable to attach to mixer front:0: No such

It says that device does not suppport 96000 Hz but it definitely does. I can
play 96000 khz 16-bit audio files just fine with aplay:
