Hi Richard, and thank you for your bug report. So that we can try to gather more information to help us to debug this issue, could you please try running Software Center in debug mode from a terminal window as follows:
$ software-center --debug 2> /tmp/software-center-debug.log Then follow the steps to reproduce the issue, and finally attach the file /tmp/software-center-debug.log to this bug report. Thanks! Your help is much appreciated! ** Changed in: software-center (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to software-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1055748 Title: In Unity desktop the Software Center App starts but then disappears after a few seconds Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I powered down and restarted but that did not fix the problems. I had been trying to install Drop Box which I had just downloaded. I went to the terminal first and entered what the DropBox site said I should enter to install it. This did not work. So then I tried "suco apt-get install dropbox" and that did not work either. So I thought perhaps I could install it using the Softward Center. But when I double clicked Software Center in the Launchpad the Software Center started but then within a few seconds disaappeared from the screen. I powered down and then back up and tried again and it still jsut disappeared after a few sceconds. I am going to try to download a more up to date version and see if that will execute OK. Richard J.
