I too am having the same problem with PDF attachemnts.  At first they
would just not download.  Now they aren't coming through at all.

* Linux mrx4 3.2.0-24-generic-pae
* Thunderbird 12.0.1 Ubuntu binary

Just did a complete upgrade today from 11.04 hoping it correct the issue, but 
unfortunatly not.
So far all other attachements see to work fine.
