This update was required as Thunderbird 3.1.x has now reached end of
life. Thunderbird 12 will be coming soon. I'm wondering if you have
incompatible extensions. Please start thunderbird in safe mode
(thunderbird -safe-mode) and disable any extensions you might have.
Then restart normally. You can try reenabling the extensions one by one
until you find the incompatible one. You also might want to update your
addons to the latest versions on addons.mozilla.org

Bug description:
Thunderbird 11.0.1 Ubuntu 10.04 LTS 64bit
After a large update of the system Thunderbird (I don't know if it has been
updated too) has problems all over.
1. the error console has lots of entries here is the very first:

2. the add-ons manager is stuck with the message "loading"
and a whole bunch more of that stuff!
It is very disappointing to run a regular (bugfix) update with this
result!!!
Does anybody at the Ubuntu Team feel responsible?
