Another interesting thing - after a reboot and the icon not in its
original size, the "Restore Size" option isn't greyed out anymore; it's
regular black.

Title:
Icon Resize on desktop - "Restore Size" is greyed out

Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  In 12.04:

If you put an icon on the desktop (In Gnome Fallback mode) you can right
click and select "resize icon".
  This works fine.

However, once you again click on the now-resized icon, the text that
says "Restore Icon's Original Size" is greyed out - implying that it's
not selectable, when, in reality, it is.

The option should be greyed out when it hasn't been resized or is the
original size, but it shouldn't be greyed out after the size has been
  changed.
