I think it already IS ported. From the Rhythmbox developers' page
(http://projects.gnome.org/rhythmbox/developers.html) under the building
from source:

GNOME 3.0 or newer (including GLib 2.28 and GTK+ 3.2)

Bug description:
  Rhytmbox and other most used gnome programs needs to be ported to a full gtk3 
interface, to be more compatible with the latest advantages of gtk3 theming 
like real transparent objects and more.
  at this moment I only know that gnome-system-monitor is up to date with this 
features.
