Just an update about the current status: DPI is detected correctly on my
production system upgraded from feisty to latest gutsy, but when I boot
the current live CD, I get an autodetected DPI of 67. It should be 86,
that's why fonts are so small.

So this is ultimately an Xorg bug. Bryce, is that known to fail
sometimes and going to be fixed? Or can it at least tell us if it was
able to detect the DPI? If not, we might need to revert to the hardcoded
96 DPI we had so far.
