Just an update about the current status: DPI is detected correctly on my production system upgraded from feisty to latest gutsy, but when I boot the current live CD, I get an autodetected DPI of 67. It should be 86, that's why fonts are so small.
So this is ultimately an Xorg bug. Bryce, is that known to fail sometimes and going to be fixed? Or can it at least tell us if it was able to detect the DPI? If not, we might need to revert to the hardcoded 96 DPI we had so far. ** Also affects: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium Assignee: (unassigned) => Bryce Harrington Target: None => tribe-3 -- default desktop/panel menu font sizes too small https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/118745 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
