Thanks for the immediate response. I did install the .dbg files and also checked up at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace? Site. Unfortunately I could not proceed further with the terminal not opening the line for password and just blinking the cursor. I am sorry that I could not get you backtrace and all I could do was to remove evolution and forget the 134 email messages locked in the program along with my address book. I am now using Thunderbird for email. I liked evolution but it is indeed a pity that I can not unlock from its frozen position. With best regards Narayana Moorthy
