Public bug reported: Binary package hint: file-roller
GNOME file-roller 2.18.1 tar (GNU tar) 1.16 When a tar archive of a directory with subdirectories is created from within Nautilus using right-click > Create Archive, the resulting tar contains duplicate subdirectories. Opening the archive in File Roller doesn't show the duplicates. Extracting the archive doesn't produce any errors unless the original directory structure used relative symlinks in such a way as to cause some targets to be attempted to be extracted twice. The duplicates are viewable from within Midnight Commander. Running File Roller directly and creating a new archive does not result in duplicates in the tar. The only clue is obtained by running Nautilus from a terminal: (file-roller:7668): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_file_system_path_to_filename: assertion `path != NULL' failed ** Affects: file-roller (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Directory duplication when creating tar https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/117066 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for file-roller in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
