Again, I use feisty and gutsy, on different machines.

This is the only disk I've seen it with; I don't have a whole lot of
discs with a different album artist vs. track artists.

I know of no other applications that read mb data, other than picard;
picard handles this fine.  And yes, if you follow the link I posted, you
can see that the disk does have "album artist" information: "Eric Serra
and Julien Schultheis" as stated in my previous comment.
