I have the same issue with my feisty : When I insert a dvd, it is mounted correctly in /media/cdrom0 but it doesn't appear on my desktop nor in the left panel (tree or places) of nautilus. Curiously, with a CD in the same drive, all works fine.
On Dapper, all works fine both with CD and DVD.
