You have been subscribed to a public bug: I did a clean install of feistyfawn herd 5 a few days ago, I went to the securety and put the autologin on and it worked fine. I tried to dissable the passwordmanager (keyring) by modifying the gdm file, but it didn't work. Today the updatemanger said there was a update to 7.04, so I did that. During the installation I got the question if I want to keep the modified gdm file, I choose to use the one from the installer. After the installation I did a reboot. Now I get the loginscreen, but because iI had the autologin option on it tries to login and then say authentication failed. The only option is to press ok after I get the same message again.
I'm no expert and can't repair it with recoverymode (just don't know how, so I wil do a new install) Hopefully I'm the only one with this problem. ** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Brian Murray Status: Needs Info -- (auto)login failed after upgrade feistyfawn herd5 to 7.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/102508 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
