This bug was fixed in the package libadwaita-1 - 1.9~beta-0ubuntu2
---------------
libadwaita-1 (1.9~beta-0ubuntu2) resolute; urgency=medium
* Disable patch:
stylesheet-common-Use-opacity-for-all-disabled-gtk-images.patch
While it is syntactically correct in theory, in practice it's triggering
a bug in libsass which replaces "opacity(" with "alpha(", which
gtk_css_filter_value_parse() does not understand (LP: #2141831)
