Wayland support for the Nvidia driver is taking a few years to mature. We made it the default in 24.10 and I personally aim to resolve the last of the bugs in 26.04. But you will see a significant decrease in performance due to bug 2081140 (which will never be fixed in 24.04 unless the fix happens in the driver itself), and I am not sure that's the only major fix missing in 24.04.
I think it would be better if 24.04 stayed on Xorg for Nvidia systems.
