Upstream did not fix the bug, instead they removed support for installing missing codecs on-demand entirely.
Totem only officially supports Flatpak nowadays, in which they can bundle all needed dependencies and not worry about out-of-band codec installation wizards. Ubuntu can not do the same for its default media player. I will look at making a downstream workaround for this issue that keeps the missing plugin wizard for the existing releases. Going forward Ubuntu will be shipping a different default media player, and those wishing to continue using new versions of Totem can get the Flatpak. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2091302 Title: "Missing Decoder meta/x-gst-fourcc-mebx" message when trying to play some videos To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gstreamer1.0/+bug/2091302/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
