Public bug reported: Install Broadcom CV (FP pkg) or any FP sensor Pkg in Ubuntu 24.04 OS laptop. Enroll 2 FP. Lock the user account and login using any of the enrolled FPs. Observe that login will be successful. Lock the user account again and place the laptop in suspend state (immediately after lock) from the lock screen. Observe that the laptop takes exactly 30sec to enter the suspend state (This issue is observed on Goodix Moc laptop also) ------ issue 1 Wake the laptop from suspend state after 10-15sec. Place the enrolled FP to login. Observe that FP gets detected & authenticated correctly (based on UART logs & and also host fprind logs) but user login doesn't happen. If the finger is placed again on the reader, FP detection fails. ------ issue 2 Unlock the user account using password and lock the user account again (or Performing a mouse click on lock screen reinitiates the capture).. Now login using enrolled FP works fine. Note: The issue can be consistently reproduced by following these steps: When the laptop is locked, the display turns off at the lock screen. Immediately after locking the laptop, press any key to prevent the display from turning off. Then, if the laptop is placed in suspend mode from the lock screen, the issue will occur. --- ProblemType: Bug ApportVersion: 2.28.1-0ubuntu3.3 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckMismatches: ./casper/initrd ./casper/vmlinuz ./casper/minimal.standard.live.hotfix.manifest ./casper/minimal.standard.live.hotfix.size ./casper/minimal.standard.live.size ./casper/minimal.manifest ./casper/minimal.standard.manifest ./casper/minimal.standard.size ./casper/minimal.hotfix.size ./casper/minimal.standard.live.hotfix.squashfs ./casper/minimal.standard.hotfix.squashfs ./casper/minimal.standard.hotfix.size ./casper/minimal.hotfix.squashfs ./casper/minimal.standard.live.manifest ./casper/minimal.size ./boot/grub/grub.cfg CasperMD5CheckResult: fail CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME DistributionChannelDescriptor: # This is the distribution channel descriptor for Ubuntu 24.04 for Dell # For more information see http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DistributionChannelDescriptor canonical-oem-somerville-noble-oem-24.04b-edge-20240912-93 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 24.04 InstallationDate: Installed on 2025-03-05 (36 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu OEM 24.04.1 LTS "Noble Numbat" - Release amd64 (20240911) Package: gnome-control-center 1:46.5-0ubuntu0.24.04.1 PackageArchitecture: amd64 ProcEnviron: LANG=C.UTF-8 PATH=(custom, no user) SHELL=/bin/bash TERM=xterm-256color XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 6.11.0-9004.4+exp.12-oem 6.11.0-rc6 Tags: noble third-party-packages wayland-session Uname: Linux 6.11.0-9004-oem x86_64 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin plugdev sudo users _MarkForUpload: True
