1. Add MUTTER_DEBUG=kms to /etc/environment and reboot (without nomodeset) so as to reproduce the problem. 2. Log in and wait at least 60 seconds on the back screen. 3. Collect a system log, either by switching VTs (Ctrl+Alt+F4) or rebooting into nomodeset again: journalctl -b0 > curboot.txt journalctl -b-1 > prevboot.txt 4.
