What's consistent is that gnome-shell crashes with SIGSEGV whenever we send it SIG-anything-else. And unfortunately https://errors.ubuntu.com/oops/5647be8a-1517-11f0-b3fe-fa163ec8ca8c is even less detailed than the previous crash reports.
The file name '/var/crash/_usr_bin_gnome-shell.1000.crash' doesn't sound very unique so it's possible the crash we really want is getting overwritten almost immediately and possibly not uploaded :( But these SIGSEGV issues Jonas has seem to be Nvidia-related. So I'm hopeful a non-Nvidia system will produce better results. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2089709 Title: Ubuntu 24.04 (X11) sometimes logs in to a black screen with only an X cursor To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/2089709/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
