Thanks. It looks like this is one of those cases where Nvidia is the primary GPU with Intel secondary: Mar 05 12:51:48 Goliat gnome-shell[2271]: Added device '/dev/dri/card2' (nouveau) using non-atomic mode setting. Mar 05 12:51:48 Goliat gnome-shell[2271]: Device '/dev/dri/card1' prefers shadow buffer Mar 05 12:51:48 Goliat gnome-shell[2271]: Added device '/dev/dri/card1' (i915) using atomic mode setting. Mar 05 12:51:48 Goliat gnome-shell[2271]: Created gbm renderer for '/dev/dri/card2' Mar 05 12:51:48 Goliat gnome-shell[2271]: Created gbm renderer for '/dev/dri/card1' Mar 05 12:51:48 Goliat gnome-shell[2271]: Boot VGA GPU /dev/dri/card2 selected as primary If your secondary monitor is plugged into the secondary GPU (Intel) then that requires special support which was added in Mutter 46.5 and 47 which was only released in Ubuntu 24.10. Although even that was only tested with the proprietary Nvidia driver and not with Nouveau. Debugged in: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/2295#note_2232915 So that would make this a duplicate of bug 1978905 fixed in Ubuntu 24.10, assuming the fix that works for nvidia-drm also works for nouveau. ** Bug watch added: gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues #2295 https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/2295 ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 1978905 Reverse PRIME support for Wayland (Nvidia as primary GPU outputting to Intel GPU display ports) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2100655 Title: [nouveau] Second monitor shows only cursor visible when using Wayland with Nouveau driver - Switching to Xorg solved issue To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/2100655/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
