My single monitor is a common 24" 1920x1080 connected to HDMI. I did some additional tests :
- the problem is present with all Ubuntu versions since at least 22.04.5 LTS. - the problem only occurs with cursor pushes contents around mode, not with the default. Being the nominal Windows magnifier behavior, I believe the push mode is the most commonly used. - the problem sometimes only appear after modifying the settings and doing a session restart / reboot. - it seems that disabling the focus and caret tracking make the freeze appearing more quickly. - some people seems to have the same problem : https://askubuntu.com/questions/1531022/how-can-i-file-a-bug-in-gnome-magnifier-it-freezzes-with-push-setting - the problem is present with Wayland or Xorg. - there's no problem with plasma or Cinnamon desktops. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2099933 Title: display freezes when magnifier is activated To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/2099933/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
