Thanks. I have two remaining thoughts: 1. The EDID information from xrandr says the monitor is a 'DELL E2418HN'. And I have experienced problems myself with Dell monitors advertising fake refresh rates which they don't actually implement on screen (they stutter instead). So there's a chance the Dell monitor is the only problem here. But related to that;
2. Using Xorg can cause so many new problems compared to Wayland that it's possible the medicine is worse than the disease. And I wonder if using Wayland would just be less problematic than X11 in this case. ** Changed in: mutter (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New ** Summary changed: - Screen Stuttering on Intel Graphics + Screen Stuttering on Intel Graphics when using X11 non-standard modes -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2093399 Title: Screen Stuttering on Intel Graphics when using X11 non-standard modes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/2093399/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
