I've tested the proposed version of GDM following the missing test plan cases, in particular:
1. Fingerprint authentication continues working as expected. 2. Smart card authentication (tested in real world scenario and with https://hackmd.io/CWmBWMggSZWOYo6slGNIEQ) is broken as per the GNOME Shell bug https://launchpad.net/bugs/2065432 It's relevant to note that this is not a regression of this gdm version, but a pre-existing state due to a GNOME Shell bug. In fact using gdm in proposed (46.2-1ubuntu1~24.04.1) in conjunction with gnome-shell in proposed (46.0-0ubuntu6~24.04.6), the smart card authentication works as expected. As per this, I think we can safely mark this SRU as verified. marco@ubuntu-vmware:/tmp/sc-testing (main):✓ $ apt-cache policy gdm3 gdm3: Installed: 46.2-1ubuntu1~24.04.1 Candidate: 46.2-1ubuntu1~24.04.1 Version table: *** 46.2-1ubuntu1~24.04.1 450 450 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu noble-proposed/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 46.0-2ubuntu1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu noble/main amd64 Package ** Tags removed: verification-needed verification-needed-noble ** Tags added: verification-done verification-done-noble -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm3 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2090876 Title: [SRU] GDM Stable Release 46.2 to Noble To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/2090876/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
