Thanks. Those logs show kernel crashes in the i915 driver. But there's still a chance it could be the Nvidia driver's fault.
Since you're using X11 there's actually no way gnome-shell/mutter could cause a single display to freeze because X11 forces us to redraw them all at the same time in a single operation. So that's why this is classified as a kernel (or Nvidia driver) bug. ** Changed in: mutter (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Invalid ** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers-550 (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New ** Package changed: xorg-server (Ubuntu) => linux (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2084321 Title: Nvidia interaction with Monitor as Mirrored crashes the mirror but not builtin display To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2084321/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
