When we discussed this in person everyone agreed the problem was only limited to mutter 46.1. After 46.2-1ubuntu0.24.04.1 is done, I would expect the MRE to resume in 46.3...
I think it's a recurring issue with their .1 releases in that they treat those as .0 final releases. So new features get added right up to .1 releases. That's certainly not good project management, but also I don't think they have any intention to change.
